Will you pay $250 for a deluxe edition of Rihanna album?

A true test of how loyal you are to an artist. It doesn’t involve shaving your head, but it will cost you a pretty penny.

In addition to Rihanna‘s seventh album, Unapologetic, being released on November 16, a special deluxe edition will be out aon December 11. The “Diamonds Executive Platinum Box,” will cost $250 a bunch of crap  extras not available to the average fan.

The extras include:

  • Collectible colored “Diamonds” vinyl remixes
  • 11 x 17 handwritten personal note from Rihanna to her Navy
  • 2GB credit card-style USB flash drive
  • Unisex shirt with a Michael Muller photo of Rihanna taken during her Unapologetic album shoots
  • Seven 12 x 15 lithographs featuring Muller photos
  • Magnus Voll Mathiassen illustration and exclusive Unapologetic images.

It will also include three stickers featuring the album’s cover art that can be used on iPhones or other smart phones,

seven laptop stickers featuring Mario Hugo artwork, the Unapologetic album and “Diamonds” single artwork,

collectible colored vinyl featuring “Diamonds” remixes and a custom-made View Master with unreleased images of Rihanna’s style transformation.

But wait, there’s more!

It also comes with a custom 40-page notebook with handwritten notes and lyrics, a deluxe version of the album with a 28-page photo and art booklet, a 20-minute DVD with unreleased footage, a clip from the Loud Tour and an exclusive fan poster.

However, if you don’t have that kind of green, there’s a cheaper, less exclusive edition will be available on November 19th.

For $79, and feature the T-shirt, laptop stickers, deluxe version of the CD, the DVD, fan poster, Loud Tour performance peek and what’s described as a “limited edition genuine, conflict-free diamond bracelet” with a black leather band and a brass disc with a 1pt diamond packaged in a signature R logo card.

Ok, Rihanna needs to slow her roll with this. You have only been in the business for 7 years and have not put it enough work to sell this type of album.

There should be a requirement where you can only have deluxe editions of that price when you have put in 20 years or more in the music industry i.e. Michael Jackson, Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston, etc

I don’t like Rihanna like that anyways, but I know her ‘navy’ will be scrapping for change or skipping bills to get it so more power to them.
